Before & After

Sleepy Eye Type

The general problematic cause for these types of eyes are from muscular dysfunction or weakness. It can be considered as one of the most difficult eyelid surgeries, but at Wonjin, our patients consistently feel satisfied with their results.

Patients with ptosis can look tired, sleepy, and dull, as their eyelids would constantly droop over their eyes. Regular forceful contraction of the muscles involved when conciously lifting the eyelids and eyebrows, can form severe wrinkles on the forehead.
In such cases, depending on the patients’ skin type and the mass of drooping skin, either non-incisional or incisional Ptosis Correction surgery can be implemented to lift the eyelid back. The incisional method of Ptosis Correction is recommended for those whose eyelid sag severely, and have thick and excessive muscle and fat tissues in their eyelids. On the other hand, non-incisional method of Ptosis Correction is suitable for thin eyelids with minimal bulky components.

Ptosis Correction surgery, assumingly done correctly by our seasoned doctors, can exquisitely expose just the right amount of pupils and create the most ideal and attractive eye shape.

Eyelid Surgery Method for Sleepy Eye Type

  • Individually customized Eyelid Surgery planned by specialist STEP 01
Our surgeons plan and customize each inidividuals eyelid surgery

Our seasoned surgeon will determine the thickness of the skin, the amount of fats and muscles on eyelid, and then proceed to customize each surgery whilst considering the patients' desires.

  • Designing ideal line STEP 02
Depending on the type of skin: Miniscule punctures or incisions are made

The skin and muscle fascia will be sutured together by either puncturing tiny holes for sutures or by making incisions on the designed outline.

  • Customized incision method according to skin type STEP 03
    Connecting Muscle and Eyelid Skin

The contractile force of the levator muscles of the eyelids will be adjusted by attaching the eyelid skin to the musclular structure. The muscles will be nicely tightened to reveal just the right amount of pupil exposure and avoid over-correction of ptosis.

  • Clean suture to minimize scar STEP 04

Clean and delicate suturing of the incision area is done to minimize scarring and reduce swelling.

The eyes may appear abnormally big or unnatural when ptosis correction is exaggerated. Additionally, closing the eyelids can become distressful and tiresome. Therefore, a thorough consultation prior to surgery with a surgeon who has many years of experience in eyelid surgery is vital and absolutely necessary.
