Before & After

What is Ptosis correction?

Ptosis correction with incision is a form of blepharoplasty that creates incision lines along the skin to correct the eyelids. This procedure is for people with thick or fat abundant skin, or with very saggy eyelids.

Appropriate for those who

  1. Have upper eyelids covering their eyes
  2. Have tired looking eyes
  3. When taking pictures, eyes look half open

Ptosis Cause

The aim of surgery to treat ptosis is to lift your drooping eyelid back to its normal position. This is usually done by tightening the muscles used to raise your eyelid. If your ptosis is severe, your eyelid can be attached under your eyebrow, so that your forehead muscles do the lifting.

Ptosis varies in severity. For example, mild ptosis may cause your eyelid to droop a small amount, which can affect your appearance but not your sight. More severe ptosis can affect the upper part of your vision and cause tiredness.

Ptosis Correction, Full Incision

The muscles used to lift the eyes can become weak causing the upper eyelids to cover part of the eyes. Ptosis correction can correct this by incising the levator muscle used to open the eyes. Droopy upper eyelids can cause a tired appearance and the act of opening the eyes can cause forehead wrinkles. After expert consultation, Ptosis correction incision or non-incision will be recommended based on your personal needs

What is Ptosis correction non-incision?

The muscles used to lift the eyes can become weak causing the upper eyelids to cover part of the eyes. Ptosis correction can correct this by incising the levator muscle used to open the eyes, thus creating a double eyelid. Droopy upper eyelids can cause a tired appearance and the act of opening the eyes can cause forehead wrinkles. After expert consultation, Ptosis correction incision or non-incision will be recommended based on your personal needs.

Appropriate for those who

  1. Have eyes that appear half-closed leading to a sleepy appearance
  2. Have little change or dissatisfaction with double eyelid surgery
  3. Desire to have ptosis free eyes.

Cause

Ptosis Correction is a little different than blepharoplasty. The aim of surgery to treat ptosis is to lift your drooping eyelid back to its normal position. This is usually done by tightening the muscles used to raise your eyelid. If your ptosis is severe, your eyelid can be attached under your eyebrow, so that your forehead muscles can do the lifting.

Ptosis varies in severity. For example, mild ptosis may cause your eyelid to droop a small amount, which can affect your appearance but not your sight. More severe ptosis can affect the upper part of your vision and cause tiredness.

Ptosis correction, non-incision

This procedure does not use incisions, but instead uses minute openings to correct the muscles and eyelid. However, extreme cases of ptosis require correction with incision.

Eyelid Surgery : Ptosis Real Story

  • The anesthesia hurt! It was one of the more tough appointments but the good news is I can eat more food now! yayy~ Within a couple of hours of not having my stitches in, my face seemed to slim instantly! I look more like a doll now. I’m very happy. I’m going to miss everyone at Wonjin because they were all very kind to me. My favorite doctor was the specialist for my nose. He did such a good job and he’s funny too. The nurse was also very sweet. She told me to come back to Korea next year kekeke~ My profile is perfect now and my jaw line is feminine. There are so many things that are different from my previous experiences with cosmetic surgeons in America. Where Wonjin subtracted fat, there was no scar left, while my old doctor in America left very big ugly scars. Under my nose, you can’t see any scar anymore, but before the doctor at Wonjin fixed it, it was big and crooked. When my old doctor injected fat into my face, he left bruises and lumps. But doing these things at Wonjin, I found my recovery to be quick and scar free. I was so self conscious…
