What is Male Breast (Gynecomastia) Reduction?

If the mammary glands are overly developed and fat is piled like the breasts of a woman giving the appearance of “man boobs”, then male breast (gynecomastia) reduction is required. Male breasts or “man boobs” usually occur when male hormones decrease or female hormones increase so that the inactive mammary glands are stimulated. Male breasts, gynecomastia, or “man boobs” are not harmful to the body, but they may be psychologically stressful, in which case male breast or gynecomastia reduction.

Appropriate for those who

  1. Case of hypertrophied gynecomastia due to increase of adipose(fat) tissue
  2. Case of hypertrophied gynecomastia with overdeveloped mammary gland tissue
  3. Have protruding breasts
  4. Have sharper nipples and larger areolas than normal
  5. Have raised areolas
  6. Can feel hard mammary glands
  7. Are obese and the breasts are round and droopy
  8. Are not able to reduce breasts through exercise

Liposuction Technique

Appropriate for case of hypertrophied gynecomastia due to increase of adipose tissue, often caused by being overweight.

Surgical Method

  1. Incise underneath of the breast for
  2. About 0.5cm
  3. Insert cannula to remove fat

If needed, remove adipose tissue (fat) at the same time from the mammary duct

Mammary Gland Reduction Technique

Appropriate for case of hypertrophied gynecomastia with overdeveloped mammary glandular tissue; such case is hard to be corrected by liposuction

Surgical Method

  1. Incise skin underneath the areola
  2. Remove mammary glandular tissues
